Prohibited materials include paint, chemicals, pesticides, solvents, hazardous waste, asbestos, propane tanks, gasoline, oil, fuel containers, medical waste, explosives, fireworks, and radioactive materials. A second group requires special handling rather than an outright ban: appliances, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, televisions, computer monitors, electronics, tires, batteries, and metal recycling.
